At times young people cannot get the most out of the experiences life has to offer. This could be a result of limited knowledge, skills, or underlying issues that may not be readily apparent. My private practice aims to identify these obstacles and help children, adolescents, and their families by equipping youth with skills to put them on a positive path before adulthood.
Therapy involves highlighting and increasing individual and family strengths that promote resilience and adaption.
Therapy Approach
I use therapeutic approaches with proven effectiveness (evidence-based) in treating children and youth with behavioral problems, ADHD, anger, depression, anxiety. I also work with children and families experiencing separation and loss, foster care and adoption, parenting issues, and attachment and relationship issues.
Psychological Evaluation
A method of obtaining a better understanding of an individual’s personality, including their strengths and areas that need improvement, ways of coping with stress, IQ and mental abilities, and ways of interacting with others. The process also includes considering an individual’s life history and environmental factors that contribute to daily functioning.
Therapy Services
Includes individual therapy for children, adolescents, and adults in addition to family therapy services. Once written consent is obtained from the client, I am willing to ensure continuity of care by communicating with other professionals involved in the client’s well-being (e.g., teachers, social workers, and physicians).
